Australia 1880 Sydney Half Sovereign PCGS VF35

In 1880, the Royal Mint delivered a new type of reverse die with fat beads. Collectors call this new die the type 4 reverse. However, Australia continued to be delivered with the obsolete dies that the Royal Mint wanted gone. In doing so, the English created some of the rarest half sovereigns available to collectors in the English Empire. 1880 Sydney is one such date.
