Australia 1908M Half Sovereign PCGS MS61
- S-3975
- In a group of 5 coins, only 12 graded finer
A relatively common date of some 240,000 examples. However the fact that this coin is MS61 and there are only 12 graded finer is evidence of a difficult date to acquire in higher grades.
Dr David Briggs has studied the archives at Melbourne Mint and determined that 1907 and 1908 were minted at the same time in 1908. However, you’ll note in PCGS that 400,000 are recorded as being minted in 1907. This is the combined total of the two years.
