Australia 1914 Birmingham Florin PCGS AU55

Faced with demand for the war effort, the Royal Mint subordinated production of half a million Australian Florins to Heaton & Sons in Birmingham.

That only twelve examples exist that are finer than this ‘extremely fine’ equivalent coin is testament to their rarity today. PCGS records the sale of an MS63 example in 2015 for USD $11,750 (somewhere around $15,000 AUD at the time)

This example is priced to move in this buyer’s market. If you’re not up to your neck in mortgage debt and have a time frame longer than the ‘quick flip’ in housing, there’s never been a better time to start collecting.
