It’s been a pleasure and challenge bringing my first collection of Australian pennies to market after purchasing them raw in Darwin and sending them to PCGS. Some coins were a disappointment.

Not this 1919 Melbourne plain penny however. It is ONE of NINE (cue Lord of the Rings) and there are only two coins in brown better than this.

I’ve found a MS64RB (red brown) example for $850 – double the cost of this example. Exceptional value to start or complete your high grade collection of various mint marks produced during 1919 and 1920.
