Australia 1920 No Dot Penny – PCGS XF45
PCGS has a problem – they are grading a significant number of normal dot below scroll or dot above scroll pennies as no dot pennies. This is especially the case in the lower grades. The following image shows the only confirmed 1920 no dot die marker to date. 8 out of 10 no dot pennies carry this marker. The other coins are extremely high grade and of little use in identification to the average collector. Prices reflect this understanding of scarcity. Buyer beware, especially if looking for a bargain priced coin.
