Australia 1921 Sydney Shilling – PCGS MS61

  • Only 7 coins finer exist. Rare in MS grade

1921 Sydney is an interesting story. The original intention was to drop the silver content to 50% like Great Britain. It was decided to add a small star to denote the difference in silver in the coinage. In the end the silver content was maintained at sterling (92.5%), yet Sydney received dies with the star still included. This error created one of Australia’s great numismatic scarcities.
