A very difficult date to find in higher grades. Dr David Briggs suggests a mintage of up to 160,000. PCGS quotes mainstream collector guide books for a mintage of 180,000. However, the highest grade given by PCGS is AU55 (5 coins only); therefore a rare date in EF grades and very rare in mint grade.
